Exothermic/Endothermic

Every chemical reaction that exists is one of two things: endothermic or exothermic. The Greek root thermmeans temperature or heat, which gives us a clue about all reactions: there is energy exchange! Endomeans "within" while exo means "outside," so these types of reactions are opposite.

Synthetic meat

Synthetic meat might be very helpful in the next few decades.  The population is growing and we could run out of meat. Scientists are finding ways to make synthetic meat. Scientists have made synthetic meat with soy,pea proteins, and amaranth. By 2050, scientists believe that the population will increase by 2 billion. Which the meat supply will decrease even more if there isn't enough meat for everyone. This is affecting the world for the people who don't have the opportunity for real meat. Scientists can make meat in a lab, it's crazy to think about. I think that synthetic meat can help the future tremendously. If the meat supply is shorten scientists can just make meat in a lab. Synthetic meat is very helpful for the years and decades to come.

Periodic Table

Think past: I didn't know much about the Periodic Table before but I knew it was separated by how many protons and neutrons. I knew there about the noble gasses and the transition medals. I also knew there was 118 elements on the periodic table. Scientists are trying to find new elements but they are man made.

Think present: I learned how that there is different types of carbon. There is 3 different types of carbon and they all do something differently. Almost every element has more than 1 form of it. Which is very interesting. I also learned that some elements scare away sharks which is a new discovery and amazing to think about.

Think past: In the future I think I will just have the knowledge in my head. I don't think I will ever have to use this besides in high school and in college. It is good to know about the elements and what they are and how they are separated. This is a very interesting topic and I like to know about the elements.

Car Safety

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/9817496/Obese-drivers-more-likely-to-die-in-car-crashes.html
Each year scientists find new ways to protect and prevent car crashes. There are many things that can help you. For instance there is an seatbelt that keeps you in your seat. It'll make you not fly out the window so you should always wear your seatbelt. They have many different types of airbags as well. There is side airbags, passenger airbags, and the driver has airbags as well. There are different types of crashes. You could be hit by the front, back, or even the side of the car. Scientist have put extra padding to help the impact not be as bad as it would be. A lot of people get whiplash when they get hit by a car. Whiplash can hurt your neck really bad. It's when driving and then getting hit by a car and your head just goes forward and then back. Over 5 million people get in a car crash each year. Scientists are finding new ways to keep people safe and are cutting this number down.
